These digital prints on canvas begin as photographic images focusing on isolated areas of wood, metal or glass that have been subjected to extreme weather conditions, abandonment and/or disuse. This selective focus isolates the image from its original source and prevents us from knowing where it came from, instead opening up a whole new “world” dominated by color, pattern and texture. In some cases collaging several images together or the introduction of additional visual elements suggest more specific environments or contexts.
