Spoken With Eyes

Co-currated with Steve Mehalo, Terri Wayne and Brian Winters at the Design Museum at UC Davis in Spring 2006, The Spoken With Eyes Exhibit explored the directions in design since the “dot-com” busts and their effect. My responsibilities primarily involved the exhibition of motion and video work submitted by firms such as Pentagram, Visual Forces, etc. through the design of a user interface, interactive kiosk and accompanying DVD.

The world changed. Political powers grew, economies drained and graphic design went back to its roots. Simplicity and innovation, resourcefulness when budgets are sparse, typography you can read, personality, protest, camp with an art of the street edge, not just the boardroom. Spoken with Eyes is a look at graphic design and what it’s been up to since the dots burst. Presented by the Sacramento Art Directors & Artist Club (ADAC).
