Mojo Boogie

This series marks a continuation of my interest in manipulating musical instruments, or parts of musical instruments, into new forms. This particular group also references a portion of the rich musical vocabulary of New Orleans. That heritage is built on many cultural, religious and spiritual foundations and includes a fair amount of “quirkiness”, contrasts and juxtapositions but is always unique and expressive.

Each of these figurative works hopes to capture a bit of that spirit and reference the piano as a symbol of musical style, culture and belief.

Mojo Boogie series is also related to the individual work, “Rondo”
